The power of misdirection is something really interesting to
learn and it can be a very powerful tool if used correctly in the media. ApolloRobins talks about the art of misdirection in a TED talk. His talk will blow up
your mind it is amazing how we can see things and not even paying attention to
other things that are very close to us or that are in front of our eyes. His talk is one of the most amazing and
inspiring talks I have ever watched not just because of how he entertains the
audience but because he finishes the talk with one question: “If you could
control somebody’s attention what would you do with it?”
From the first time I watched his talk on YouTube to right
this moment, I’m still asking myself the same question but not only what would
I do with it, but how can misdirection can be used in the media. Something that
we have to consider as well is how we perceive things and it is amazing how
much stuff we can miss if we don’t pay close attention to everything that
surrounds us.
If we could pay attention at everything that is around of
the object, the idea, the person, the dream or anything in between, we could be
more aware of what products we will buy and if we are in the selling side, how
can we approach new customers.
